Is this zine physical or digital?
Digital! It will be distributed on itch.ioPaid or Free?
Free! Both the zine and any digital merch will be available at no cost.Is there an age requirement to participate in the zine?
Yes, we ask that all contributors be at least 18 by the end of the sign up period. What will the zine’s rating be?
It will be PG-13! We will be following more or less what is allowed in One Piece itself, and there will be no NSFW content.I’ve never participated in a zine before, can I still join?
Absolutely! As long as you meet our minimum requirements to participate, all are welcome!Does my OC have to be for One Piece? Are OCs for other media or original stories allowed?
Your OC must be a One Piece OC! If you use them for multiple fandoms, that is fine, as long as one of those is One Piece and you create exclusively One Piece content for the zine. Will mods be monitoring my social media?
No, we will not. However, if we find out that you are participating in harassment or bigotry, you will be removed from the project.I don’t do art, can I still join?
Yes! For most projects, we have a “writer only” role for those who don’t draw. We will have spot artists working to help create art for folks who are only writers.I’m not a writer, can I still join?
Yes! All of our zines include artwork, and any that might require you to write (such as OOG Classic), has options that allow for purely informational writing and keeping it minimal.Wait, what is OOG Classic?
OOG Classic (OP OC Guidebook Classic), is the main version of the zine. It includes OC profiles, articles, Devil Fruits, crews, weapons, and more to explore the worlds of each featured OC. Think of it as a newspaper or a magazine! Scroll for more Classic specific questions further down.I don’t have an OC but still want to participate, can I?
Yes! We have the special spot artist and spot writer roles for folks who want to help create for other people’s OCs in the zine! Can I use AI?
Absolutely NOT. Generative AI may not be used at any point in your process, and if Mods find out you have been using it, you will be removed from the zine and blacklisted from any future projects by this mod team. Can I use commissioned art or picrews in the zine?
No, we ask that all the artwork in the zine be created by the contributors. The only exception to the no commissions rule is if 1. the artist is IN the zine AND 2. you get permission from them to include the work! How many OCs can I feature?
Just the one!!! This is a huge project with a lot of participants, so each contributor will be limited to one OC for most projects. It is okay if additional OCs come up within the writing and art, but they will not be the featured character and will not get a profile page.Does artwork have to be in color? What level of finish do you want?
Artwork can be color or black and white. Most art will need to be considered "finished," such as lined, colored, and rendered, but we will allow some leeway in certain areas with line only or sketch art. This will be on a case by case basis and discussed with mods. Can I share my work outside the zine server?
No! Any new work created for this zine MUST stay inside the zine's discord server until the mods give the go ahead after the release. Until then, no outside sharing! Why do I have to have a discord account?
Contributors must join a discord server for the zine for the purposes of organization and contact. You will not have to be an active chatter in the server, but you MUST be checking it regularly for important announcements. Once the project has been released, Mods will give the go ahead to leave the server. Are there multiple zines under the OOG umbrella?
Yes! We plan on doing not only multiple editions of our main zine, but also spin offs, such as a fic writing anthology, a comics anthology, and a field guild that gets more in depth about Devil Fruits and original islands. Keep an eye out!Who is the reporter?
He is our mascot and the framing device of the zine! He is assembling all the information, and he’s really hoping he gets that big promotion from Morgans.Who are the mods?
Mods will vary from project to project and can all be seen on our mods page. However, all OOG projects are hosted and organized by Hannah Spoons of The Utensil Drawer, which you can check out for more zines and events not under the OOG umbrella.I missed out on the sign up period, can I still join or be a pinch hitter?
No, because our zines are sign up based, meaning all who fill out the form and onboard in time will be accepted, and can be very large, if you miss out on the sign up period, you must wait until our next project. Keep an eye on the calendar! Can I do traditional art?
Yes, but you MUST be able to take clear and clean scans or photos at a high quality and be willing to edit them to make sure they are the best they can be. For free art and editing software available on both desktop and mobile, check out Ibis Paint X and Photopea (a photoshop clone)
OOG Classic Specific Questions
Why is the creation period so long on OOG Classic?
This zine has a unique format and allows people to create for a number of sections, and so mods wanted to allot extra time for everyone to get things done!Is OOG Classic yearly?
No, the project is too intensive to be annual. We will host it as often as we are able though! Can multiple OCs be shipped with the same canon character?
Yes, this is a sharing environment. Can multiple OCs have the same Devil Fruit?
Yes, though if we see they are going to be too similar during the pitch period, we may ask that only one be featured or that the creators collab on a shared entry.

Our Main Zine
Volume 1: Coming Soon (Creation Period)The main guidebook is the biggest zine under the OOG umbrella. Our intrepid reporter has been gathering all the juicy secrets of dozens of interesting people around the world. Each OC featured will be highlighted in their own profile page before readers will be given a look into their rich lives via artwork, articles, and more.OOG Classic will always have a longer than standard creation period due to both the amount of work for contributors and the amount of participants. Additionally, contributors will be allowed to contribute to as many sections as they want, as long as they meet the minimum requirements for their chosen role (see below!)
OOG Classic Roles
Standard Contributor
You wish to both draw and write for your OC. Information can be purely informational, so don’t be afraid if you don’t consider yourself a writer! You will be required to create profile art, fill out profile information, and complete work for at least two sections of the zineWriter Only
You wish to ONLY create written work for your OC. You will be paired with at least one spot artist to ensure you have art for your profile and to accompany your written assignments. You will be required to fill out profile information, write for at least two sections, and communicate with your spot artist(s) to ensure they are able to create some wonderful artwork for your OC.Spot Artist
You do NOT wish to include an OC of your own, but instead wish to create artwork for Writers and others who might need help representing their OC. You will be paired with a Writer and expected to create profile artwork and at least two additional pieces of art.If your writer has more than one spot artist due to numbers, you will each be expected to create two or more pieces but may decide who draws the profile artwork.Standard Contributors may sign up to ALSO be a spot artist for a Writer, but please only do so if you know you can handle both workloads!Spot Writer
You do NOT wish to include an OC of your own, but wish to help other contributors by writing articles or other content for a partner. You will be expected to communicate regularly with your partners and create at least two pieces of writing.
